The Children, Families and Maternity e-Bulletin

Thanks to Kath Evans for sharing this useful resource to do with child health. Only a couple of months so far but worth keeping an eye on the website. Will try to remember to notify this group of useful resources.

RCPCH Position statement on key principles for reconfiguration

The position statement highlights ten key principles for reconfiguration, making four major calls.  Of note the following is highlighted:

Fewer, larger units: The Facing the Future model sees fewer, larger inpatient units which are better equipped to provide safe and sustainable care, supported by short stay paediatric assessment units (SSPAUs) and networked services. The concentration of specialist services also provides the opportunity to be more flexible with rotas, increases the scope to deliver seven-day, 24-hour consultant led care and provides a better environment to develop clinical skills and experience across the children’s healthcare workforce.

Did any RHG members make a pledge for change day?

Would love to hear from you if you got involved!
